1. My most successful project was the crow sitting on a branch that i made out of charlcoal pencils.
For the essential question project we had to choose a word and form a question off of it and then make an art piece. For me word I choose music and my question was "What is good music." To show what is good music I drew band logos for a bunch of bands I really like. (I'll post picture next time we come to the lab.)
I don't believe that art without meaning is decoration. Sometime when you're making something when you start out you don't always have a plan or an idea you just kinda make something and it turns out great. Some of the greatest pieces of art in history don't have a particular meaning they're just art. Not everything in the world has to have meaning some things are just what they are.
For my element of art I chose value. To show this element i used charcoal pencils and drew a crow sitting on a branch. i showed value with the different shades of gray and black. The picture below is what i used to make it. The differences are I made a solid a darker back ground and darker branches.
